Born in 1987 in Adana, Turkey, Onur Seçki discovered his passion for rhythm at an early age, inspired by his father’s darbuka playing. While still in high school, his fascination with percussion deepened, and he chose the darbuka as his main instrument. In 2005, he moved to Istanbul to pursue his studies and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from Istanbul University in 2009.

During his university years, Onur became one of the first students at Misirli Ahmet Rhythm House, where he refined his technique and performed in major concerts as a member of the Rhythm House Orchestra. In 2011, he represented Turkey at the Traveling Notes’11 International Classical Music Festival in Yerevan, Armenia. His remarkable performances caught the attention of acclaimed Brazilian conductor Alex Klein, leading to solo and orchestral appearances at the Santa Catarina International Music Festival 2012 in Brazil.

Driven by curiosity for sound and production, Onur pursued Audio Engineering studies at SAE Institute Istanbul, earning his diploma in 2014. He went on to work as an assistant audio engineer at Babajim Istanbul Studios, and later completed a Master’s degree in Sound Technologies at Bahçeşehir University in 2017.

Since 2016, Onur has showcased his percussive artistry in the long-running “Rhythm of Dance” show at Hodjapasha Culture Center. In 2017, he joined the experimental ethnic-fusion ensemble Anarchist Republic of Bzzz, performing across Europe and sharing the stage with jazz legend Archie Shepp at prestigious events such as Banlieues Bleues Festival and Mannheim Jazz Festival.

As a music producer, Onur made his debut with “BOUKA” in 2018, followed by a string of acclaimed releases — “Bosphorus” (2019), “Arabex” (2020), “Fin” (2021), “Sanctus” (2023), and “High Land” (2024) — each reflecting his distinctive fusion of ethnic grooves and electronic sound. Since 2019, he has also been performing as a percussionist with Hey! Douglas, one of Turkey’s leading electronic music acts, and as a live percussionist with Anatolian funk artist Evrencan Gündüz, further expanding his versatility and stage presence.

Beyond the stage, Onur composed original scores for contemporary dance productions including “New Life (Yeni Hayat)”, premiered by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet’s Modern Dance Ensemble (MDT Istanbul) in 2021, and “Deliriyum” in 2025. The New Life soundtrack album was released in October 2022.

Throughout his career, Onur has shared the stage with celebrated artists such as Zuma Dionys, Anatolian Sessions, Omeria, Joachim Pastor, Hannes Bieger, Brigado Crew, and Andre Soueid, performing at leading venues including Zuma Istanbul, Soho House, Clubhouse Bebek, Swissotel Chalet Garden, Zoe Garden, Spago Istanbul, W Istanbul, and Galataport, as well as major festivals such as Summerdaze Festival.

In April 2025, he made his Paris debut with a captivating live performance at La Petite Halle, marking a new milestone in his international journey.

Today, Onur Seçki continues to explore and blend Ethnic House, Afro House, Tech House, and Progressive House, crafting immersive soundscapes that merge East and West. Whether behind the decks or on stage with his percussion instruments, he invites audiences into a deeply rhythmic and transcendent musical experience.
